10-man Kenya Hold Angola to 1-1 Draw in CHAN 2024 Clash

Nairobi, Thursday August 7 – Kenya’s Harambee Stars showed great determination as they battled to a 1-1 draw against Angola in their opening Group A match of the CHAN 2024 qualifiers at Kasarani Stadium.

Red Card Drama for Kenya

Kenya were reduced to 10 men in the first half after midfielder Marvin Nabwire was shown a straight red card for a late challenge, putting the team under pressure early on.

Angola Strike First

Angola made the most of the advantage, scoring just before half-time through a well-placed shot that beat Kenyan keeper Patrick Matasi. The goal left home fans silent at Nyayo Stadium.

Odhiambo Equalizes for Kenya

In the second half, Kenya came back fighting. Austine Odhiambo scored a brilliant goal in the 67th minute after a quick counter-attack, sending the crowd into celebration. Despite being one man down, Harambee Stars remained strong and denied Angola a winner.
