Six Killed in Kitengela–Isinya Road Accident as Residents Block Highway

Kitengela, Kenya – Six people have died while several others sustained injuries following a grisly road accident at Korompoi along the busy Kitengela–Isinya road on Saturday morning.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when two vehicles collided head-on, leaving bodies scattered on the tarmac and survivors trapped in the wreckage. Emergency response teams rushed to the scene, ferrying the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Residents Protest Over Road Safety

Shortly after the incident, angry residents took to the streets, blocking the Kitengela–Isinya road in protest. They accused authorities of neglecting the dangerous stretch of road, citing frequent accidents caused by speeding and poor visibility.

Police officers are currently at the scene trying to restore order and clear the highway. Traffic along the route has been heavily affected, with motorists advised to use alternative roads.

Calls for Action

Local leaders and residents have renewed calls for the installation of speed bumps, improved signage, and stricter traffic enforcement to curb the rising number of fatalities on the road.

Kenya has seen a surge in road accident fatalities in recent months, with the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) urging motorists to observe traffic rules and drive responsibly.
