Chelsea Star Cole Palmer to Undergo Scan After Injury Blow
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Cole Palmer will undergo a scan to determine the seriousness of the injury that ruled him out of their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.
The midfielder’s problem was initially downplayed as a minor knock, but Maresca now says further tests are needed to assess the extent of the issue:
“His injury was from yesterday’s [training] session, it’s a muscular problem. He needs a scan, and it is planned for tomorrow [Monday] morning. I hope he can be back for our next game, but we need to wait for a scan.”
The Chelsea boss also suggested that Palmer’s absence could be beneficial for the player’s long-term fitness.
“We don’t wish players injury, but probably in Cole’s case in this moment, it will give him some rest, physically and mentally—it could be good,” Maresca added.
Palmer has been Chelsea’s standout performer this season, and his injury will be a concern as the Blues push for a strong finish to the campaign.
