Thomas Partey’s message to the Arsenal faithful after their win over Real Madrid received plenty of reactions from teammates.
Arsenal stunned the reigning European champions with a commanding 3-0 victory on 8 April, delivering one of their most memorable Champions League nights at the Emirates Stadium.
Declan Rice stunned pundits with his performance and lit up the occasion with two stunning free-kicks, while Mikel Merino capped off the performance with a composed finish, giving the Gunners a strong lead heading into the second leg.
Partey put in a composed and disciplined display for Arsenal in midfield, anchoring the centre of the pitch alongside Rice and Martin Odegaard, helping to control the tempo throughout.
After the match, the Ghanaian shared a message with supporters in the aftermath of the historic result that quickly gained traction among his teammates, who were quick to show their appreciation.
Arsenal could part ways with Thomas Partey as contract talks stall
Partey left a short but emphatic message for supporters on Instagram after Arsenal’s win, writing: “WHAT A NIGHT”.
His midfield partner and goalscorer Rice commented “the best” while Jurrien Timber branded his performance “exceptional” in the comments.
Other teammates including William Saliba, David Raya and Myles Lewis-Skelly also reacted by liking the post.
Despite the strong camaraderie within the squad, Arsenal are expected to let Partey run down his contract, which expires this summer, with no renewal talks currently planned.
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider back in January that Arsenal were not pursuing contract with Partey, who is keeping his options open ahead of a possible summer exit.
While Partey has struggled with form for Arsenal this term, he has still played a key role under Mikel Arteta, featuring in 44 matches across all competitions, contributing three goals and three assists in 3,247 minutes.

Arsenal eye Martin Zubimendi as Thomas Partey’s future remains uncertain
With Partey’s long-term future up in the air, the Gunners appear to be preparing for life without him, as Arsenal continue to be heavily linked with Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.
Although Real Madrid are also monitoring Zubimendi, Arsenal are believed to have laid the groundwork for a potential summer move, viewing him as an ideal fit for Arteta’s system.
For now, Arteta will be hoping Partey can maintain his form during this crucial run of fixtures, as the Gunners prepare to face Brentford in the Premier League before travelling to the Santiago Bernabeu for their Champions League second leg.
