William Saliba has attracted various reactions on social media following Arsenal’s inspired win against Real Madrid at the Bernabéu.
Mikel Arteta‘s side took a three-goal advantage into the second-leg in Spain and went onto seal a 5-1 aggregate victory over the holders to set up a semi-final with PSG.
Star attacker Bukayo Saka, after his poor Panenka penalty was saved by Thibaut Courtois earlier in the match, put the visitors ahead following an intricate pass from Mikel Merino.
Despite Vinicius Junior pulling one back for Madrid just moments later, Arsenal held firm and were brave enough to claim a famous win when Gabriel Martinelli scored three minutes into stoppage time.
William Saliba’s ‘night’s like these’ message to the Arsenal fans
In a message from Saliba’s official instagram account on Thursday (17 April), the 24-year-old said: “Nights like this! Incredible team performance again! See you in the semis Gooners!”
Declan Rice, who scored two excellent free-kicks in the first-leg at the Emirates, replied “love u”.
The post received plenty of other reactions from teammates, with a group including Thomas Partey, Martinelli and centre-back partner Gabriel Magalhaes all liking the message.

Looking back Arsenal will not mind with their full focus on the semi-final against PSG in just over a week’s time.
