Drama in Mombasa: MP Salasya Escapes Mysterious Arrest Attempt

Drama unfolded on the night of Saturday, May 10 after Mumias East MP Peter Salasya narrowly escaped what he described as an unlawful arrest attempt by unidentified individuals at a hotel in Mombasa.

In a defiant statement, the vocal DAP-K legislator claimed the group–allegedly posing as law enforcement—stormed his residence without proper identification, a warrant, or a clear reason for the attempted apprehension.

“This was not an arrest. It was a criminal act disguised as law enforcement,” Salasya declared.

According to Salasya, the individuals’ failure to provide credentials pointed to a sinister plot to silence his outspoken political stance. He described the event as cowardly and called on Kenya’s security agencies to take immediate action and reveal who was behind the raid.

“Who sent these thugs? Who is so terrified of my voice that they’d violate my rights?” he posed emotionally in his address.

Videos circulating online show masked men in civilian clothing alongside uniformed officers attempting to gain access to the MP’s hotel suite. However, alert Mombasa residents reportedly intervened, forcing the group to retreat and flee in an unmarked vehicle.

Salasya, who has declared his intention to run for President in the 2027 General Election, insists the incident will not intimidate him into silence. He vowed to continue advocating for freedom and justice for all Kenyans.

“I will soldier on. I will not blink. Kenya must and will be free from dictatorship,” he concluded.
