Ex-Model and KU Graduate Turns Mama Mboga After Marriage – Sparks Online Debate
Scholastica Bibi Ya Mmeru, a former fashion model and Kenyatta University graduate, has transitioned from gracing the runway to running a mama mboga business. Her journey has ignited mixed reactions online, with many questioning whether marriage played a role in reshaping her life choices.
The 26-year-old, who holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) degree, had a promising modeling career but gave it up after moving in with her partner in 2022.
“By early 2023, I had stopped modeling completely. We moved in together, and he provided everything in the house,” she shared.
Despite applying for over 500 jobs, Scholastica has yet to secure employment. In January 2024, she decided to take matters into her own hands by opening a vegetable stall to sustain herself financially.
Her transformation has sparked heated discussions on social media—some admire her resilience, while others argue that no relationship should force a woman to abandon her dreams.
Reactions Online:
- “She made a responsible choice. Not everyone gets a dream job immediately after graduation.”
- “Marriage shouldn’t mean giving up your passion. Modeling was her thing!”
- “At least she’s earning an honest living instead of waiting for handouts.”
