Kenyans can now use the Hustler Fund to pay their Social Health Authority (SHA) premiums, thanks to a newly introduced Lipa Pole Pole option aimed at easing the financial burden of upfront payments.

The update was rolled out silently, with several users confirming they received SMS alerts from their mobile providers detailing how to make SHA contributions via Hustler Fund’s flexible installment plans.

How It Works: Step-by-Step

The government has integrated SHA contributions into the Hustler Fund platform to support informal sector workers who struggle with annual lump-sum payments.

Government’s Commitment to Affordable Healthcare

President William Ruto officially launched the Lipa Pole Pole scheme during the 62nd Madaraka Day celebrations in Homa Bay, stating that Kenyans can now pay their SHA health premiums through flexible installments.

The rollout is a partnership between the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs, Mobile Network Operators, and Financial Institutions via the Hustler Fund.

Important Considerations

  • You must be a registered Hustler Fund user.
  • Your repayment history must be clean to qualify.
  • The SHA and Hustler Fund systems currently operate separately but have been linked for this service.
