How Ogolla’s Military Benefits Will Be Shared
According to the will, all military service-related benefits and compensation will be divided among his immediate family:
- 50% to his wife, Aileen Ogolla
- 25% to his daughter, Lorna Achieng Omondi
- 25% to his son, Joel Rabuku Omondi
Individual Asset Distribution
General Ogolla made specific bequests for each member of his family:
- His wife, Aileen, was left the family property located along Hatheru Road.
- His daughter, Lorna, was bequeathed a flat at Metro Fairview and all shares held at NIC Securities.
- To Lorna, he also left a treasured family heirloom — “the old Luo Bible left by my mother.”
- His son, Joel, was given another flat at Metro Fairview and a parcel of land near Siaya Airstrip.
- Joel was also entrusted with all of Ogolla’s personal belongings and artifacts. The will instructed that all of the late General’s clothing be burned.
Final Wishes and Unspecified Property
For any property not mentioned in the will, Ogolla directed that it should be jointly owned by Lorna and Joel — unless they reach a mutual agreement on how to divide it.
In a poignant closing, he wrote: “To all my relatives, good luck.”
Legacy of a Decorated Soldier
General Francis Ogolla’s legacy lives on not only in his military service but also in the careful thought he put into securing the future of his family. His structured distribution of wealth reflects both military precision and personal consideration.
