Introduction
Applying for a passport in Kenya has been streamlined with the introduction of the e-passport system. You can now apply, renew, or replace your passport online through the eCitizen platform. Below is a step-by-step guide on the application process, charges, and required documents.
Application Procedure
- Register on www.ecitizen.go.ke to access government services.
- Log in and navigate to the Department of Immigration Services.
- Click on the e-passport application form and fill in the required details.
- Select a payment method and complete the payment.
- Download and review your application form before printing.
- Print the application form and three copies of the payment receipt.
- Submit the printed form and required documents in person at the nearest Immigration Department or Huduma Centre.
The process typically takes 10 to 15 working days.
