Investigations Launched into Mysterious Death of KBC Reporter Fredrick Parsayo

Police have launched investigations into the sudden and mysterious death of Fredrick Parsayo, a journalist with the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).

Parsayo, who served in the KBC Editorial Department, was found dead on Friday, March 21, 2025, at his residence in Kinoo, located in Kikuyu Constituency, Kiambu County.

In a statement released by the media house, KBC confirmed his death and described the incident as deeply saddening. The corporation said the circumstances surrounding his demise remain unclear and are currently being investigated.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our esteemed colleague, Fredrick Parsayo… under circumstances that are still being investigated,” the statement read in part.

The incident was promptly reported to the Kinoo Police Station. Authorities have since moved Parsayo’s body to the St. Teresa Mortuary as investigations begin. KBC noted that the journalist’s family has already been notified of the tragic development.

Fredrick Parsayo was remembered as a valued member of the editorial team, known for his professionalism and dedication to his work. His sudden passing has left a significant void within the KBC fraternity.

“On behalf of the KBC Board of Directors, Management, and all our staff, we extend our sincerest condolences to Fredrick’s family, friends, and all those impacted by his loss,” the statement added.

The cause of death remains unknown, pending the outcome of police investigations and a post-mortem examination.
