Government Launches Youth Jobs Initiative

The national government has officially announced the recruitment of 110,000 youth under the Climate WorX programme, following President William Ruto’s Madaraka Day directive. The CRSP portal is now open for applications.

Eligibility and Application Process

The application is open to Kenyan citizens aged 18 to 35 years. Applicants must have a National ID or Maisha Card, and will need to provide ward, village, and sublocation details. Those with prior involvement with the National Youth Service must declare it.

Verification Process

Verification will be handled jointly by NGAOs, chiefs, and village elders to ensure transparency. Priority will be given to new applicants and excluded individuals with previous misconduct records.

Types of Jobs Offered

Youth will be deployed in their local areas for tasks including:

  • Rehabilitation of feeder roads
  • Upgrading of pedestrian walkways
  • Improving drainage systems
  • Environmental cleaning and conservation

In Nairobi County alone, the programme has restored 47 km of riparian zones and cleared 84 km of clogged drainage.
