Newcastle United full-back Kieran Trippier and Leicester City centre-back Conor Coady have both reacted to a recent blow for Harry Kane at Bayern Munich.
Having departed Tottenham to join the German giants back in the summer of 2023, the striker’s future continues to be the subject of much speculation.
There have been suggestions that Kane is keen to leave Bayern Munich and return to the Premier League in the summer transfer window already.
For now though, the England international’s focus will be on delivering success for his club, although his attempts to do that have recently suffered a setback.
Bayern Munich beaten in Internazionale clash
On Tuesday night (8 April), Kane’s side took on Italian outfit Internazionale in the first leg of their Champions League quarter final at the Allianz Arena.
Things did not play out well for Bayern in that game, as they were beaten 2-1, with Davide Frattesi netting an 88th minute winner for their opponents just moments after Thomas Muller had cancelled out Lautaro Martinez’s opener.
Kane was guilty of missing several good chances that could have turned things in favour of his side, although he is not giving up on the chances of reaching the semi finals yet.

Taking to Instagram to reflect on that match, the 31-year-old wrote: “A disappointing result last night but lots of good things we can take from the game. Tie isn’t over! All to play for next week.”
In response, Newcastle star Trippier – who has played with the striker for Tottenham and England – and Leicester defender Coady – another international teammate of Kane’s – both showed their backing.
The pair were both among those to like that post in a demonstration of support ahead of the second leg next Wednesday (16 April).
Harry Kane will be feeling the trophy pressure build
Football Insider Verdict
It is a remarkable fact that a striker as good as Kane is still yet to win a major trophy in his career, and he will be desperate to end that quickly.
It was a huge shock he missed out on doing that in his first season in Germany last year, following the emergence of Bayer Leverkusen.
Under new Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany there will have been even more pressure to do that this season, to put things right after the disappointment of the previous campaign.
Kane and his side are in good position to claim silverware this season, as they sit six points clear at the top of the Bundesliga with six games to go, while they are not out of the Champions League yet.
Results like this though will not help the nerves especially given how things have gone for the striker in the past, and so he should have all the motivation in the world to turn things around in the coming days.
