Detectives in Nairobi have arrested Ikanga Ward MCA Cyrus Musyoka Kisavi over the alleged theft of assorted mobile phone accessories valued at Ksh1.9 million.
According to police sources, the mobile gadgets were reported stolen on February 8, 2025, by Buscar Courier Services. The case took a sharp turn after surveillance footage captured at the courier’s River Road branch showed the MCA walking away with the parcel, which was headed for a Mombasa-based client.

The charges stem from a December 4, 2023, incident in Ngurunga, Emakoko, where police officers from Oloosirkon Station attempted to arrest suspects linked to assault and property damage. During the operation, one suspect, Soipen Samuel, was successfully detained. However, while officers tried to arrest a second man, Marush allegedly arrived at the scene with over ten individuals armed with sticks and knives.
The group reportedly attacked an officer guarding the arrested suspect and forcibly freed the detainee. Marush, who was armed with a pistol, is said to have led the group in threatening the officers and damaging a police vehicle. The situation was contained by two armed officers who were inside a nearby house at the time.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Isinya took over the probe and, after forwarding the case to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), received the go-ahead to proceed with prosecution.
Legal Action Looms for Both Lawmakers
