Training Format and Timeline
The training will run in two phases—an online module and an in-residence training session scheduled between July and August 2025. The initiative aims to sharpen examiner skills for Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) assessments in junior secondary schools.
Subjects Covered
Teachers will be trained in:
- English (Composition)
- Kiswahili (Insha)
- Mathematics
- Integrated Science
- Agriculture
- Religious Education (CRE & IRE)
- Creative Arts and Sports
- Pre-technical Studies
Training Fee
Shortlisted candidates will be notified through SMS and the KNEC portal to pay a Ksh10,500 training fee.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a practicing teacher in a relevant subject area
- Registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or Public Service Commission
- Possess at least a Diploma in Education
- Have at least 3 years of teaching experience
- Be aged 50 years or below
- Hold a clean disciplinary record
- Recommendation from head of institution
- Commitment to attend a strictly residential training program
How to Apply for KNEC Examiners Training
Interested candidates should submit their applications through the KNEC portal:

Application Steps:
- Log in using your CP2 credentials. If forgotten, click on “Reset Password” and use your phone number in the format 2547XXXXXXXX.
- If you don’t have an account, click “Create Account” and follow instructions.
- Fill in your profile and click “Apply for Training”.
- Select your relevant subject from available vacancies and submit.
Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Only qualified candidates who meet all criteria will be shortlisted.
Benefits of the Training
Successful trainees will become eligible for engagement as examiners during national KJSEA assessments later in 2025, contributing directly to CBC implementation.
