KWS to Auction Motor Vehicles, Scrap & More in July Public Sale

The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has announced two major public auctions set for July 2025. The auctions, which will be conducted by Valley Auctioneers, will offer motor vehicles, scrap metals, motorcycles, and assorted goods to the highest bidders.

When and Where Are the Auctions?

The first auction will take place on Tuesday, July 22 at the Tsavo East National Park in Voi, starting at 9:30 AM.
The second is scheduled for Friday, July 25 at the Central Workshop on Magadi Road, Nairobi, also starting at 9:30 AM.

Items on Auction

According to the KWS notice, items to be auctioned include:

  • Motor vehicles and motorcycles
  • Scrap metals and old tyres
  • Used and new motor vehicle spare parts
  • Lawn mowers, water pumps, and used generators
  • Old newspapers, magazines, and batteries

Conditions for Participation

Interested bidders must pay a refundable deposit of Ksh20,000 via M-Pesa or banker’s cheque to the Director General, KWS.
Only registered bidders with valid receipts will be allowed into the auction venue.

Successful bidders must pay 10% of the bid price immediately after the hammer falls and complete full payment within 7 days.
Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the deposit.

Viewing & Collection Information

Viewing of items will be allowed on normal working days from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the auction locations.
Winning bidders must collect their items within 14 days of the auction. After this period, storage fees of Ksh500 per day will be charged.

Unsuccessful bidders will receive refunds within seven days after the auction.

How to Register

Bidders should arrive early, as registration starts 1.5 hours before auction time. An official receipt is required for entry.
