Borussia Dortmund sensation Jamie Gittens has attracted Premier League interest this term following his impressive performances in Germany.

The London-born 20-year-old has been linked with Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and more since his breakthrough in the Bundesliga.

He has managed 12 goals and four assists in 42 appearances across all competitions for Dortmund this term.

And now Gittens, who was previously on the books at Man City, Chelsea and Reading in England, has made a key decision on his future ahead of the summer transfer window.

Dortmund slash Gittens asking price

According to Sky Germany (7 April), Gittens is dissatisfied at Dortmund and wants to leave the club in the upcoming summer transfer window.

It is claimed they are ready to lower their initial €100million (£85.7million) asking price for the England Under-21 international.

Dortmund could miss out on European football for next season and would likely need to sell Gittens to balance the books if that happens.

Bayern Munich have been mentioned as a potential landing spot for the Englishman, alongside potential suitors in the Premier League.

Gittens recently made his 100th appearance for Dortmund but has fallen down the pecking order at the club following Nico Kovac’s appointment – which has seen him limited to substitute cameos in recent weeks.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea given Gittens warning

Football Insider Verdict

Jamie Gittens is no Jude Bellingham – Dortmund’s last huge-money English export, who joined Real Madrid for an initial fee of almost £89million.

However, the other natural comparison is Jadon Sancho – who swapped Germany for Man United for a fee of £73million.

Gittens is better suited to the Premier League than the on-loan Chelsea star due to his frightening pace and direct running – which sees him lead the way for take-ons in the Bundesliga this term.

But it may be hard for English clubs to justify paying over the odds to land the winger when Bundesliga talent has translated so poorly to the Premier League in recent years.

If the price is right, clubs may be lining up to land the England Under-21 international – and Dortmund may be forced to lower their expectations if they do miss out on Europe for next season.
