Morgan Rogers had a determined message on social media despite Aston Villa’s loss in the Champions League.
Aston Villa suffered a 3-1 defeat in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain on 9 April.
Rogers sent the travelling fans in raptures with a well-taken opener against the run of play inside 35 minutes. Despite the promising start, goals from Desire Doue, Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Nuno Mendes turned the tie around and handed PSG the advantage heading into the second leg.
Rogers once again showed his value to Aston Villa, delivering a confident performance on a big European stage.
The 22-year-old’s strike marked his fourth goal of the Champions League campaign, underlining his growing influence in Villa’s attacking line.
After the match, the winger took to Instagram with a message that reflected his focus and determination as Villa prepare for a crucial return leg at Villa Park.

The attacker shared a defiant message on Instagram following the loss, posting a caption that read: “It’s not over.”
He received plenty of support from his teammates, with Youri Tielemans and Ezri Konsa responding with emojis, while others including PSG loanee Marco Asensio and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer showed appreciation by liking the post.
Rogers has been enjoying an outstanding campaign at Aston Villa, registering 14 goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions. His versatility has made him a vital part of Unai Emery’s squad, featuring across the frontline—from both wings to a more central attacking midfield role.
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown previously told Football Insider that Rogers left Manchester City due to concerns about his attitude. However, just a few years later, it appears City may be considering bringing him back—proof of how far he has come.
