At least four people have died and over 500 others have been injured following a massive explosion at the Shahid Rajaee port in southern Iran, authorities confirmed on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
According to state-run media reports, the blast rocked one of Iran’s most critical shipping and trade hubs located in Hormozgan Province along the Persian Gulf.
Babak Mahmoudi, head of the Red Crescent Society’s Relief and Rescue Organization, told state television, “At least four deaths have been confirmed by rescuers,” adding that the explosion triggered widespread destruction and a major emergency response.

Hundreds Injured in the Port Explosion
Emergency services revealed that 516 people were injured in the disaster. Many victims were rushed to nearby medical centers while temporary treatment facilities were quickly established to manage the overwhelming number of casualties.
