Former TSC Boss Tapped for Murang’a County Role
Former Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia has been nominated to serve as Chairperson of the Murang’a County Public Service Board.
The nomination, announced by Governor Irungu Kang’ata in a letter dated June 10, 2025, comes as Macharia nears her retirement from TSC at the end of June.
Nominees to Face Vetting on June 27
Macharia will appear before the Murang’a County Assembly for vetting on Friday, June 27 at 10:00 am, alongside four other nominees:
- Dr. Louis Mwende Musikali
- Johnson Kangethe Kinyua
- Dr. Brian Lishenga Makamu
- Oscar Kimani Gathura – nominated as Secretary
Required Documents and Public Participation
According to the County Assembly notice, nominees must present original copies of their academic certificates, clearance certificates from KRA, HELB, National Police Service, CRB, EACC, and their National ID or passport.
Members of the public are invited to submit views on the nominees’ suitability by Thursday, June 26 at 4:00 pm. Submissions can be delivered to the Office of the Clerk or emailed to info@assembly.muranga.go.ke.
Macharia’s Exit from TSC
Nancy Macharia proceeded on terminal leave from the TSC on June 1, 2025, with Eveleen Mitei taking over in an acting capacity. Her official retirement is set for June 30, 2025, marking the end of her long career in public education service.
