Police in Kisii County have launched investigations after a chilling murder-suicide involving a General Service Unit (GSU) officer, a local teacher, and her daughter shocked residents on Sunday morning.

Fatal Domestic Dispute Turns Deadly
The incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday, following what neighbors described as a heated argument between the teacher, Sheila Mokaya, and the officer she had reportedly been dating. The couple had been involved in a tumultuous relationship that ended in tragedy after Sheila reportedly reconciled with her estranged husband.
Reports indicate that the woman had informed the officer that her family, including her estranged husband, had come to an agreement and reunited. The officer, feeling betrayed by the development, committed the heinous act in a moment of rage and despair.
Gunshots in the Night
According to local residents, they were jolted awake by a series of gunshots around 3 a.m. Fearing the worst, neighbors alerted the police, who responded swiftly to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers found three bodies. Sheila Mokaya had been shot twice, her daughter once, while the GSU officer was confirmed dead from a single gunshot wound, suspected to be self-inflicted.
Police Investigations Underway
Authorities believe the shooting stemmed from a domestic conflict. Sources close to the investigation revealed that the officer may have acted out of jealousy after learning of Sheila’s reunion with her husband.
“It is a deeply unfortunate and disturbing case. We are currently gathering evidence and speaking to witnesses,” a police officer at the scene said.
