OCS Samson Talam Arrested Over Shocking Death of Blogger Albert Ojwang

Nairobi Central Police Station OCS Samson Talam has been arrested in Eldoret after being named a person of interest in the ongoing investigation into the death of blogger Albert Ojwang.

The arrest follows a day-long manhunt triggered by public uproar over Ojwang’s mysterious death in police custody a case that has trended across social media platforms and renewed calls to end police brutality in Kenya.

IPOA Names Talam as Person of Interest

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) confirmed that Ojwang died while detained inside a Nairobi Central Police Station cell. IPOA Commissioner Boniface Samati identified OCS Talam as a key person of interest in the ongoing probe.

This brings the number of suspects arrested in connection with the Albert Ojwang murder case to three.

OCS Tried to Evade Arrest

Investigators revealed that Talam had allegedly gone into hiding to evade arrest. It is reported that he switched off his phone on Thursday as officers closed in, making it difficult to track him.

After several hours of pursuit, law enforcement located and arrested him in Eldoret. He was later handed over to IPOA officials for further processing and legal action.

Public Demands Justice

The death of Albert Ojwang, a social media influencer and blogger, has sparked national outrage and reignited the debate over police accountability. Citizens and civil rights groups have been demanding answers and transparency from institutions such as the Kenya Police Service and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).

The case remains under active investigation as more witnesses and officers are being questioned.
