Comfort Home CEO Ezekiah Kariuki has taken to social media to expose a bitter fallout from an office romance that turned sour. Formerly employed as a manager at his real estate company and once his partner and ex, now his “baby mama,” is accused of blackmailing him after being fired.
According to Kariuki, the relationship began during her time as a manager, and their affair resulted in the birth of a son. However, after she left the company, the situation deteriorated. Kariuki claims that she stole company data and used it to tarnish the company’s reputation by inciting her former colleagues and even reporting him to the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) over alleged tax evasion.
The KRA has already launched investigations into Kariuki’s company regarding tax evasion claims. In addition, she has taken legal action against him for child support. The court has ordered him to pay a monthly child support of Ksh 12,000 and cover school fees for their child—a responsibility he claims contrasts sharply with the Ksh 400,000 per month he used to pay her while she was his manager.
The scandal has sparked intense online debate, with critics questioning whether personal relationships should influence business and legal matters.
