William Imoli, widely known by his alias Omar Shakur, has been identified as the prime suspect behind the assassination of Kasipul Member of Parliament, Charles Were.
Imoli was dramatically arrested last weekend during an intelligence-led multi-agency operation carried out at a popular entertainment joint along Thika Road. He was cornered around 2:00 AM while partying with two friends, bringing a major breakthrough in a case that has stunned the nation.

What Police Discovered
Following his arrest, Imoli reportedly cooperated with investigators and led them to his residence where officers recovered over USD 4,800 in cash (Ksh 620,000).
Investigators believe Imoli is a key member of the Mujahidin gang, an extremist outfit operating in Nairobi’s Eastlands area, which is notorious for targeted killings and organized violence.
