Ethan Ampadu got some reactions after sharing a post on social media in the wake of Leeds United’s important 1-0 win over Middlesbrough.

Leeds made a flying start to proceedings when Daniel James found the back of the net after just two minutes, following an excellent cross by Manor Soloman.

However, it was the decisions made by the officials which dominated the talk after the game, with Leeds seeing two goals from Ao Tanaka and Patrick Bamford respectively incorrectly ruled out for offside.

Luckily for Daniel Farke’s men, the poor officiating had no affect on the final score with Leeds now back in the drivers seat to win the Championship this season.

Ampadu shares messages after away day delight

In a post on Instagram on Wednesday (9 April), the 24-year-old shared an image of his teammates celebrating with the caption: “Good away day, let’s keep pushing”.

Ampadu kept a clean sheet in Leeds’ win at the Riverside stadium.

In response to the post, club teammates Wilfried Gnonto and Largie Ramazani both liked the message in support of Ampadu’s performance.

An away win at the fourth attempt for Leeds

Football Insider Verdict

Leeds claimed a vital three points in the Championship title race with just two points separating themselves from Sheffield United in third.

Having failed to win in their previous three away games, Farke will be pleased to see his side put that worry to bed ahead of the all important run in.

Had it not been for the awful officiating perhaps the result would have been looked back on as more comfortable, however all will be forgiven with Leeds eventually winning the game.

Highlights from Leeds’ win over Middlesbrough.

Farke‘s decision to bring Ampadu back into the heart of the defence alongside Karl Darlow in goal proved to be an excellent choice which he will likely stick with moving forward.

With five league games remaining, Leeds will need to show more of the same from their performance at the Riverside Stadium, if they are to hold off Burnley to win the Championship title this season.
