Ruben Dias seems to have shared an injury update about Manuel Akanji on social media before Man City face Everton in the Premier League.
The 29-year-old, who arrived from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, has been unavailable since the middle of February after suffering an injury against Real Madrid and having to undergo surgery.
Pep Guardiola has felt the heat at Man City, with his team only winning three of their last six matches in all competitions, which has also seen doubts arise over their Champions League qualification.
Now sitting fifth in the Premier League table below Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest, the Citizens will be desperate for another victory, next facing Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday, 19 April.
It appears, after a spell on the sidelines, Akanji could be back in the spotlight, albeit much sooner than many anticipated.

With Kevin De Bruyne set to leave Man City this season, and John Stones, Jack Grealish, and Ederson all potentially following him, the Citizens need the top level of European football ahead of next season.
It will already be an incredibly difficult task of rebuilding the squad this summer with so many big names being linked with moves, signifying a passing of the torch, and replacements could be put off joining if City are in the Europa League.
Premier League standings | Points |
3. Newcastle United | 59 |
4. Nottingham Forest | 57 |
5. Man City | 55 |
6. Chelsea | 54 |
7. Aston Villa | 54 |
The Toffees will be no easy opposition, however, with David Moyes doing wonders since being appointed at Everton, with his side losing just one of their last 12 league matches.
History between the two sides would suggest that City will walk away from Goodison Park with all three points, but with the two teams’ form at this moment in time, it is not promised.
Guardiola will be in no mood for another blow in the chase for Champions League football, and with Akanji seemingly ready to return to the lineup, the chances of victory go shooting up.
