Salasya Defends His Position and Credentials
In a fiery response on social media, Salasya demanded respect, emphasizing that he is a self-made politician with a degree in banking and finance. He contrasted his political journey with that of Sifuna, whom he claimed relies heavily on ODM leader Raila Odinga’s support.
“You are a Senator and I am a Member of Parliament. The only difference between me and you is that I am self-made while you were handed your position by Raila Odinga,” Salasya declared.
He went further to criticize Sifuna’s style of politics, saying: “Too much English shouldn’t make you arrogant—take it to court, not politics.”
Why Sifuna Mentioned Salasya on TV
During a heated debate with Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda, Sifuna urged Ojienda to read and understand the 10-point MoU between President William Ruto and Raila Odinga, adding, “Don’t behave like Salasya.”
“I can forgive Salasya for refusing to read the document and assuming I signed it, but I cannot forgive Professor Ojienda,” Sifuna remarked during the live interview.
Sifuna Clarifies MoU Context
The Nairobi Senator argued that the idea of a broad-based government existed even before the February 7, 2025 agreement was signed. He dismissed claims that key ODM figures joined the Ruto cabinet because of the MoU, stating that they were already in place prior to the formal deal.
As political tensions rise, Kenyans await further exchanges between ODM leaders and allies over the implementation and interpretation of the MoU.
