School Bus Ferrying Children Overturns Along Mombasa Road
A Nova Pioneer school bus overturned on the morning of Tuesday, March 25 in the Sabaki area along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.
The accident occurred at around 7:30 AM as the bus was heading towards the Mombasa general direction. The school bus was ferrying children to school when it was involved in the accident.
All the children survived the crash, although some sustained injuries and were rushed to various hospitals within Athi River for treatment.
Photos and videos of the incident seen by nairobileo.co.ke showed the bus overturned on its right side, with one of its windshields broken.
Two Killed in Separate Road Accident in Nakuru
In a separate incident, two people lost their lives early Tuesday morning in a tragic road accident at Sobea, Nakuru County.
The crash occurred after a 14-seater matatu rammed into the rear of a cargo truck. The matatu, which belongs to Ena Coach, was extensively damaged in the collision.
Disaster response officer Rachael Maru confirmed the incident, noting that eight passengers sustained serious injuries. They were rushed to Nakuru Provincial Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Emergency response teams arrived at the scene promptly to assist the victims and clear the wreckage.
The authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
