Senegal’s First Lady Absa Faye Launches Free Medical Camp in Tivaouane
Absa Faye, Senegal’s Second First Lady, has once again made headlines with her commitment to public health. Following a similar initiative in Touba, she organized a new free medical camp in the holy city of Tivaouane, aiming to improve healthcare access for vulnerable communities.
According to Les Échos, a special medical camp was set up in the religious city of Maodo, bringing together several doctors who volunteered for the initiative. Residents benefited from free consultations and received medication at no cost after diagnosis.
The humanitarian effort was warmly welcomed by many locals, who described it as a concrete response to the challenges of accessing healthcare services. For Les Échos, the project highlights Absa Faye’s willingness to personally invest in social causes, going beyond her ceremonial role as First Lady.
