Teachers Wanted! TSC Opens 2,014 Job Slots—Don’t Miss the Deadline

Nairobi, Kenya – The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced a major recruitment drive to fill 2,014 teaching positions in primary, junior, and senior secondary schools across Kenya. The commission seeks to replace educators who exited the service through natural attrition.

Breakdown of Available TSC Vacancies

According to the official TSC notice released on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, the breakdown of the vacancies is as follows:

  • 1,309 positions for primary school teachers
  • 32 posts for junior secondary teachers
  • 673 posts for senior secondary teachers

Successful applicants will be hired on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Be a Kenyan citizen
  • For primary school: Possess a valid P1 certificate
  • For junior/senior secondary: Hold at least a diploma in education
  • Attained a minimum mean grade of C+ in KCSE and a C+ in two teaching subjects
  • Be registered as a teacher by the TSC

Important Notes for Applicants

  • Manual applications will not be considered
  • Applicants must not submit more than one application; doing so will lead to disqualification
  • Preference will be given to teachers who have never been employed by TSC before
  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to present original academic and professional certificates during interviews

The application deadline is Monday, May 19, 2025, at midnight.
