“I may do it; I may not do it. The next week is going to be very big, maybe less than a week,” Trump said. “I like to make the final decision one second before it’s due, because things change, especially with war.”
The former president emphasized that the U.S. is not pursuing a ceasefire but a complete dismantling of Iran’s nuclear program, which he claims was only weeks from completion before Israel launched pre-emptive strikes.

Fordow Enrichment Site May Be Targeted
One of the potential U.S. targets is Iran’s Fordow enrichment facility, a site located deep underground and heavily fortified, making it difficult for conventional attacks. Trump noted, “We’re the only ones that have the capability to do it, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to do it at all.”

Despite his rhetoric, Trump insisted he is not pushing for war. “But if it’s a choice between fighting and having a nuclear weapon, you have to do what you have to do,” he said.
Iran Responds to Trump’s Remarks
Iran’s mission to the United Nations issued a fiery response to Trump’s threats through a post on X (formerly Twitter). “Iran does not negotiate under duress, shall not accept peace under duress, and certainly not with a has-been warmonger clinging to relevance,” it said.
The Iranian delegation also criticized Trump’s mention of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, calling the threats “cowardly.” They asserted no Iranian official has ever sought White House negotiations, stating, “No Iranian official has ever asked to grovel at the gates of the White House.”
