Viktor Gyokeres posted a message on social media as speculation continues around his future, with Arsenal still heavily linked with a summer move.
Arsenal signing a new striker this summer might be the club’s worst-kept secret, with a number of forwards already being linked ahead of the window.
Football Insider revealed that Arsenal are in a strong position to secure Gyokeres’ signature, with no pressure from profit and sustainability rules—even if the deal requires a sizeable fee for the Sporting CP forward.
Meanwhile, Arsenal fans have urged the club to sign Gyokeres after fresh reports named the Swede as a top target. New sporting director Andrea Berta is said to be a big admirer of the 26-year-old, who has impressed since his move from Coventry.
Amid the growing speculation, Gyokeres shared a message online, which made it clear that his focus remains firmly on football.
Andrea Berta prioritises Viktor Gyokeres ahead of Alexander Isak in striker search
The Sweden international posted on his Instagram story despite the rumours, sharing a photo of himself celebrating with the caption: “Let’s go”.
His celebration was pictured after scoring in the 15th minute during Sporting’s draw with Braga on 7 April, further bolstering his already staggering numbers this season.
Arsenal’s sporting director Berta is said to be pushing hard for the signing, with reports suggesting Gyokeres could be available at a reduced price this summer.
While his official release clause sits at £85 million, early signs indicate a fee closer to £60 million could get the deal done.
Arsenal have also been long-time admirers of Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, but with the Magpies refusing to soften their stance, a move for the Swede seems unlikely at this stage.
In contrast, Gyokeres continues to be a standout option. His goalscoring form with 44 goals in 44 games, is hard to ignore and makes him an extremely appealing addition to Mikel Arteta’s attack.

Arsenal may have to fend off Manchester United for Gyokeres
Despite Arsenal’s strong interest, they’re not the only Premier League club circling.
Football Insider previously revealed back in January that Gyokeres is the top striker target for Ruben Amorim at Man United. The Portuguese manager is expected to push again for a reunion with the striker that helped the side lift the Primeira Liga last season.
With both Arsenal and United likely to move for a new centre-forward, the race for Gyokeres’ signature could be one of the transfer sagas of the window.
