Kaluma: Gachagua Threatening National Stability
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, April 8, Kaluma claimed that Gachagua had crossed the line by making public statements that, according to him, threaten Kenya’s stability and reputation abroad.
“Gachagua is free 24 hours after lying against the State to foreigners,” Kaluma posted. “He can say all he wants about President Ruto, but he cannot attack the sovereignty, international reputation, and stability of the Republic of Kenya as he has been recklessly doing.”

MP Urges State to Act Against Gachagua’s Allegations
Kaluma emphasized the need for security agencies to act swiftly, saying they must find a balance between respecting Gachagua’s right to free speech and protecting the broader public interest.
“The relevant governance and security institutions must strike a quick balance between the need to respect Gachagua’s rights and the overriding public interest in a stable Kenya whose international reputation is preserved by all citizens,” he said.
Kaluma: Failure to Arrest Gachagua Sets Dangerous Precedent
The legislator warned that failure to take legal action against Gachagua would create a dangerous precedent where individuals freely attack the State under the guise of opposing the president.
“The precedent the criminal justice system is setting with him by inaction is creating a very dangerous precedent,” Kaluma stated. “Arrest and prosecute citizen Gachagua with offences relating to undermining the Republic.”
Gachagua’s Explosive Allegations Against Ruto
The MP’s remarks came a day after Gachagua accused President William Ruto of being the real commander of Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), alleging that the president was laundering money from illegal gold trade through Kenya to fund rebel activities.
“For the deaths occurring in Sudan, the real commander of RSF is not Hemedti, it is William Ruto,” Gachagua claimed. “The money from gold is being cleaned through Kenya to buy arms to go and kill women and children in Sudan.”
The former DP has also urged the international community to impose sanctions against President Ruto, arguing that targeting Hemedti alone would not resolve the crisis in Sudan.
As tensions between key political figures escalate, the Kenyan public and international observers await to see whether the government will respond to Kaluma’s calls for action or dismiss the matter as political posturing.
