Suspect on the Run
According to police reports, the suspect fled after the incident on Saturday night. Chebet was last seen entering her apartment with Njoroge, just hours before her tragic death.
Cryptic Facebook Confession
Police revealed that Njoroge allegedly posted a disturbing message on Facebook, hinting at the crime. The post read: “Die and leave me alone, you pr*statute.” Investigators are using this as a lead in their search for him.
Family Calls for Justice
Chebet, a mother of three, had reunited with Njoroge after months of separation. The reconciliation was reportedly facilitated by her brother. Her family is now urging the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to expedite investigations and bring the suspect to justice.
Rising Cases of Domestic Violence
This incident adds to the growing number of domestic violence and murder cases in Kenya. Authorities are calling on individuals to resolve disputes amicably rather than resorting to violence.
Police Investigation Continues
Police last traced Njoroge to Githurai 45 on Monday, but he remains at large. Authorities are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to report to the nearest police station.
