Kenya to Host Africa’s First Major Artificial Intelligence Conference in Mombasa

Kenya is gearing up to host the continent’s first large-scale Artificial Intelligence gathering  the Africa Premier AI Conference (AIPAC 2025), scheduled to take place in Mombasa from August 25 to 28, 2025.

Why AIPAC 2025 Matters

The four-day event is set to attract over 1,500 participants, including corporate leaders, researchers, tech innovators, policymakers, and investors from Africa and beyond. The goal? To place Kenya at the centre of global AI conversations and push the boundaries of African innovation.

Harun Katusya, Director and Chairman of the AIPAC 2025 Secretariat, emphasized that this conference goes beyond presentations. “AIPAC 2025 is more than a conference – it’s a launchpad for shaping Africa’s AI future and unlocking global opportunities for Kenyan innovation,” he said.

Connecting Startups with Global Investors

One of the highlights of the conference will be the opportunity for Kenyan AI entrepreneurs to connect directly with international venture capitalists and equity investors. A dedicated investor-startup matchmaking session is expected to unlock millions in capital investment for Africa’s AI sector.

“This event positions Kenya as a leader in AI by enabling high-level public-private partnerships,” Katusya added.

Driving AI Policy and Talent Development

During the conference, scholars and practitioners will work with delegates to draft policy recommendations and forge cross-border pacts focused on AI talent development. Kenyan universities and research bodies are expected to benefit from access to global research and development collaborations.

Major discussions will centre around integrating AI into key sectors like:

  • EduTech
  • HealthTech
  • AgriTech
  • ClimaTech
  • GovTech
  • FinTech
  • TradeTech
  • InduTech

Spotlight on Africa’s Digital Future

AIPAC has declared that Africa’s AI transformation will begin with this inaugural conference. “This is a historic opportunity to align Africa’s AI goals with global best practices,” Katusya said.

“Join the most anticipated AI and technology conference in Africa — where the continent’s brightest minds, trailblazing startups, global AI experts, and visionary leaders converge,” a past statement by AIPAC reads.

How to Attend and Register

Experts, students, and business leaders interested in AI can register online to attend the event.

Attendees will explore real-world AI solutions across industries such as healthcare, agriculture, education, and fintech. They will also learn from global experts about generative AI, ethical AI frameworks, and sustainable digital transformation.

Why This Is a Big Deal for Kenya

This landmark event is expected to solidify Kenya’s status as a regional AI powerhouse, providing a springboard for long-term partnerships, investments, and thought leadership in technology.

With the global AI spotlight turning to Kenya, the country is well on its way to shaping Africa’s digital destiny.
