Trump Reacts to Xi, Putin, and Kim’s Joint Appearance at Beijing Military Parade

President Donald Trump comments on the joint appearance of Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un at China’s Victory Day Parade in Beijing.

President Donald Trump issued a statement on September 3 following a historic gathering in Beijing, where Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un during China’s largest military parade in decades.

Trump Highlights US Role in China’s WWII Victory

In his remarks, Trump reminded the world of the United States’ significant contribution to China’s struggle for independence during World War II. “The big question is whether President Xi will acknowledge the tremendous support and sacrifices made by the United States to secure China’s freedom from hostile forces,” Trump wrote.

Trump also paid tribute to American service members, calling for recognition of their bravery: “Many Americans gave their lives for China’s victory and glory.”

Allegations of Conspiracy

The former US president criticized the trio of leaders, describing the gathering as a potential challenge to US interests. “Please give my regards to Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un, as you conspire against the United States of America,” Trump added, blending historical reference with pointed sarcasm.

Context of the Beijing Parade

The parade commemorated the 80th anniversary of Japan’s surrender in World War II. Chinese officials highlighted the sacrifices made during the nation’s “war of resistance against Japanese aggression.”

President Xi warned of a global crossroads, emphasizing that nations face fundamental choices between peace or war, dialogue or confrontation. “Only by treating each other as equals and pursuing peaceful coexistence can the world avoid repeating past tragedies,” Xi stated, according to Xinhua News.

Geopolitical Implications

Western governments and Ukraine have raised concerns about North Korea and China providing support to Russia’s ongoing military campaigns. Analysts note that the convergence of these leaders in Beijing may signal evolving alliances and shifting power dynamics on the global stage.
