Tragedy Strikes Buruburu Estate: Father Kills 4-Year-Old Son, Commits Suicide
Residents of Buruburu Estate in Manyani, Kivumbini Ward, Nakuru Town East Sub-County, are reeling from shock and grief after a tragic incident on Monday evening, in which a man killed his young son before taking his own life.
Details of the Incident
Nakuru Town East Police Commander Samson Adanje confirmed the heartbreaking event, identifying the deceased man as Denis Michael Nthenge.
According to police reports, Nthenge allegedly forced his four-year-old son, a PP1 pupil, to ingest poison. Later that night, he was found dead, having hanged himself inside his home.
Domestic Disputes Cited
Neighbors revealed that Nthenge and his wife had been experiencing ongoing domestic conflicts. She had recently left their home and relocated to her parents’ residence in Machanga.
Witnesses stated that on the day of the tragedy, Nthenge picked up his son from school around 4 p.m., just hours before the fatal incident.
Police Investigation
Investigators found a note left by Nthenge in which he accused his wife of infidelity. Authorities are treating the case as a murder-suicide and are continuing to investigate the circumstances.
